Boy, is our face red! In the November/December issue of the Journal, we ran a review of a CD from John Clark McCall, entitled Florida Fanfare – Your Packard Hit Parade 5th Edition. Reviewer Doug Grant referred to it as a two-CD compilation with a price of $25.00. Wrong on two counts. First, it isn’t a two-CD set. Helena Simonton, the widow of the late Richard Simonton (d. 1979), passed away peacefully July 31 in California after a brief decline in health. October 31 would have been her 99th birthday. She and her husband, who was one of the founders of ATOS in the early 1950's, created an extraordinary home that overlooked the private Toluca Lake enclave in North Hollywood, CA. Andy Crow, the well-known organist, organ builder, and restorer, passed away on July 12 at the Panorama Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center in Lacey, Washington. Andy had been living with Parkinson's Disease; he was 83. Andy Crow started piano lessons at the age of eight and began to study the organ at age 12.
