2022 San Diego Convention Preview

News: 2022 San Diego Convention Preview

Mark your calendars now, as we plan to gather IN-PERSON in 2022 for the annual ATOS convention.

DATES: July 3 - 7

Westin Hotel Gaslamp Quarter, Headquarters Hotel
Spectacular July 4 Spreckels Pavilion Concert, Dinner & Fireworks on the Bay

Premiering July 3rd through the 7th the San Diego chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society will host the first in-person Annual Convention in two years. The California air will be filled with delightful ocean breezes, the fragrance of summer flowers and, of course, superb theatre organ music.

To enhance the city’s ambiance, there’s fabulous historical places and convention venues to see too—like the historically grandiose Balboa Theater built in 1924—featuring a 4-manual Wonder Morton, one of five “Wonder” models that the Morton Organ company built for the Lowe’s theater chain. The ever-changing, always amazing Balboa Park is a must-see. The site of more than 16 museums, multiple performing arts venues, lush gardens and a city gem...the 2000-seat Spreckles Organ Pavilion, home of the largest outdoor pipe organ in the world! Of course, our convention wouldn’t be complete without the artistry and performances of some of the most celebrated and internationally-recognized organists of today—Walt Strony, Jelani Eddington, Clark Wilson, Dave Wickerham, and more.

Home base for our convention will be the exquisitely comfortable Westin Gaslamp Quarter Hotel—just steps away from everything you’ll want to see and do while in San Diego. And the weather in July is simply spectacular.

Come Discover San Diego 2022! It will be a true celebration of life, great music, congenial camaraderie and the discovery of America’s finest city! And be ready for some super fun surprises!
