Annual Convention
By now many are beginning to pack their bags for the 2018 ATOS Annual Convention in Pasadena, California - being hosted by the Los Angeles Chapter of ATOS. The Convention schedule includes some old favorites and some new venues, along with a great list of performers. The details are available at http://www.atos2018.org/events.html.
Check back to this website each day during the convention and see a quick one-page story regarding the events the day after then occur. Also note that a commemorative two-CD set of selected performances from the 2018 Convention be available in the fall, with discounted orders being taken at the Convention. Showcase 2018
Just completed, the 2018 Chapters Showcase is available from this link: http://www.atos.org/chapter-showcase-0. This year we have some chapters returning with progress with their ongoing efforts, with others providing new insight to what they are doing to support the world of theatre organs. Take a look when you have time.
Young Theatre Organist Competition
A previous story on this website posting identified and profiled the three outstanding contestants selected by judges to perform for this 2018 Competition. The three finalists will perform on Saturday, June 30th at Barnum Hall, Santa Monica. The day after the Competition, the daily 2018 Competition winner will be reported as part of our daily coverage will on this website.
Summer Events
Each summer, ATOS utilizes this annual vacation period to host events of educational value to young artists and those interested in the restoration and preservation of theatre organs. Meetings to Note
The ATOS Board of Directors will be holding their Annual Board meeting the day preceding the Pasadena Convention, where the election of new Officers and budget for next fiscal year will be adopted. During the Convention, the Annual Membership Meeting will be held on Friday, June 29th at 4 PM in the Hilton Hotel. The Membership Forum will be held on Sunday morning, July 1st at the Hilton Hotel.
This will be my last posting as ATOS Chairman. I wish to thank all members and others who are working hard to promote theatre organ. I will be working as Past-Chairman on the Board in the coming year and will continue to visit with our many chapters as I travel, and visit with my many friends.
