The Oaks Park organ was originally installed as a 4/18 Wurlitzer in Portland's Broadway Theatre in 1926. It was moved to the rink in 1955.
According to rink organist Keith Fortune, changes from the original specification include: removal of the Dulciana, addition of an 8 Gamba, and addition of an 8 English Post Horn.
The organ is used regularly for skating sessions on Thursday nights and all day Sundays.
Notes on Organ Use:
The Wurlitzer is played for skating sessions on Sunday afternoons and evenings, special parties on Monday and on Thursday evenings. Keith Fortune is the principal organist, with Gary Russell, Dean Lemire, and Marc Gerlack as associates.
